Sr. Thea Bowman Catholic Elementary School is committed to fostering the cognitive, social, emotional, physical and spiritual growth and development of our students in a loving, nurturing and safe environment. We believe that the educational experience provided by the school must include an emphasis on spirituality and Christian living, a sound academic preparation and curriculum intended to help each child develop as responsive, competent persons with a strong concept of self-worth, self-discipline, and a commitment to principles of peace and justice.

Curriculum
Sr. Thea Bowman Catholic Elementary School is accredited by the Mississippi State Department of Education and the PreK Program is licensed by the Mississippi Department of Health.  We follow an Early Childhood Curriculum. The basic curriculum includes instruction in the following areas: Religion, Reading, Writing, Spelling, Math, English, Social Studies and Science integrated with social,  physical, listening, speaking, thinking and motor skills.  Additional instruction is provided in the areas of music, computer and art.

Title I
Sr. Thea Bowman Catholic Elementary School participates in the federally funded Title I program. The program provides eligible students with computer assisted instruction in Math and Reading.

Religious Education/Activities
All students will participate in religious education classes offered at the school. In addition, all students will participate in the Masses and prayer services. Due to Covid-19, family and friends cannot attend the scheduled school Masses and prayer services. 

121 Immunization Compliance
All PreK students must have a current 121 Immunization Compliance Form issued by the MS Health Department as a requirement for admission.

Age requirements
PreK3: Students must be 3 years old on or before September 1st of the calendar year in which the school year begins. Must be FULLY toilet-trained.
PreK4: Students must be 4 years old on or before September 1st of the calendar year in which the school year begins. Must be FULLY toilet-trained.
